Dr. Jordon
Dr. Amber Jordon was born and raised in a small rural Texas town. After graduating high school at the age of 16 she went on to obtain her Associates of Science degree in Biology. She then attended the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry and Biology. After working as an optometric assistant while in school, she became motivated to pursue her doctor of optometry degree.
Dr. Jordon received her optometric education at the University of Houston, College of Optometry where she was an active member of the American Optometric Association. During school she received clinical letters of excellence from her attending professors, and graduated as a member of the prestigious Beta Sigma Kappa optometric honor society.
Dr. Jordon completed a clinical internship at a medical based private practice in Carthage, Texas where she had hospital privileges and was on call for ocular emergencies such as to remove ocular foreign bodies and treat severe ocular infections ranging from bacterial, fungal, or viral in nature. Dr. Jordon then completed an internship at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio where she treated veterans and active duty personnel. This site allowed Dr. Jordon to fit specialized contact lenses made to treat corneas that were irregular due to trauma and disease. At these internship sites, Dr. Jordon gave continuing education lectures regarding ocular disease to her academic peers.
After completing her internships, Dr. Jordon relocated to Corpus Christi, where she has steadily built a patient base. After visiting the Portland area she decided to open a private practice dedicated to providing high-quality optometry services in a comfortable environment to ensure each patient receives the personal attention and professional care they deserve.
She is currently involved in a mentorship program with Texas A & M Corpus Christi where select students shadow her in clinic to learn about the optometric profession.
In her spare time, Dr. Jordon enjoys spending the day taking her rambunctious rat terrier, Riley to the park.
